People live in both Rural areas and Urban areas.

The population of Male is about 105,000. The population of Gamu is about 2670.

b) Agriculture 
 i) What types of agriculture do they have and what type of diet do they have?

Many of them are fishers.  They eat fish and rice as their main diet, fish is the most important source of protein than any other foods in their average diet.  Also, they do not eat other kinds of meat as often as pork, they only eat beef, chicken and the others on special occasion.(Central intelligence agency)


c) Industry and Tourism
 i) Are industry and tourism related to geography and climate?

Yes, it relates to geography and climate. The industries of Maldives are included tourism, fish processing, coconut processing. Because of the tropical climate and weather of Maldives, and also its unique geography, it attracts many of the tourists to come visit this beautiful country. Many fishes could found in the oceans and the coconut trees are everywhere in the country because of its tropical weather. (Central intelligence agency)

d) Cultural Activities
  i) Are there any notable historical events that add to the climate/culture story?

In the ancient time, Maldives is on a major marine routes of the Indian Ocean because of its location. Sri Lanka and India both have the close cultural and economic relationship with Maldives for centuries. The Maldives provide the cowrie shells and used as a currency throughout Asia.
